In the Altar mosaics the triangle representing God the Holy Trinity is easily visible as well as the individual symbols of the 'all seeing eye' of God, the Cross of Christ and the dove of the Holy Spirit. The Cross carries on down towards the ground, symbolising the humanity of Christ as well as his divinity; it is coloured red, the colour of martyrdom.
These central symbols are carried by a bar running horizontally through the whole panel to represent the continuity of life.
Also to be found are Christian symbols, in white, for 'Jesus Christ Conquers' and a X.
The Church recognises two sacraments instituted by our Lord - Baptism and Holy Communion. This link is recognised in that mosaics decorate the Altar and Font.
The Banner in the background is mounted on material supplied by our link diocese of Khartoum. The panels were worked by members of the Mothers’ Union in the eight deaneries of the Bradford Diocese.
