Do I qualify?
The Marriage Regulations which came into force on 1 October 2008 allow couples opportunity to marry in a church which has special significance for them, even though it is not where they live, provided

One of them was baptised or prepared for confirmation in the parish |
|
·
|
One of them has lived in the parish for 6 months or more |
|
·
|
One of them has at any time regularly attended public worship |
in the parish for 6 months or more
|
·
|
One of their parents has lived in the parish for 6 months or more in their child’s lifetime |
|
·
|
One of their parents has regularly attended public worship there |
for 6 months+ in their child’s lifetime
|
·
|
Their parents or grandparents were married in the parish. |
Anyone wishing to enquire about marriage should contact the Vicar as soon as possible
When one or both of the couple have a partner from a previous marriage still living, the parish policy is not to solemnize a wedding service but to offer a service of prayer and thanksgiving.
