                                                         Do I qualify?

The qualification for marriage is based on certain legal qualifications:

Do I live in the parish?   Or Am I a regular worshipper at one of the churches?
Am I over the age of 16?       Am I of sound mind?     Am I already married?
Have I a partner from a previous marriage still living?

When neither of the couple  normally live in a parish and regular worship is not viable there are other means by which they may still qualify:

A Common Licence requires one of the couple, who must be baptised, to live in the parish for a period of 15 days in the 3 months prior to the wedding.

An Archbishop of Canterbury’s Special Licence may be granted when there is no residence qualification but a couple can show very strong connections with one of the churches and one of them is baptised.
