5. The Incumbent or Priest-in-Charge may sanction the erection of the following classes of monuments without the need to seek the authority of a faculty.

a)      Simple vertical headstones  no larger than 1200mm high, 900mm  wide and 150mm thick (4ft x 3(t x 6ins) nor less then 750mm high. 500mm  wide and 75mm thick (2ft 6ins x 1ft Bins x Sins), except in the case of slate memorials which may be thinner but no less than 38mm (1.5ins) thick. These dimensions are not intended to define standard proportions of memorials, they may be of any dimensions within these limits,

b)      Headstones need not be restricted to a rectangular shape, and curved tops are preferable to straight-edged ones.

c)      A base forming an integral part of the design of a headstone is permitted provided it does not project more than 100mm (4ins) to the rear and side and 300mm (12ins) to the front beyond the headstone. Its surface must not be mirror polished so as to reflect and it must be fixed on a foundation slab (which may bo of any suitable material) which itself is fixed flush with the ground and extending 75mm to 125mm (3 to 5ins) all round so that a mower may pan freely over it. Other methods of fixing the memorial are not discouraged, and the base may be so shaped that it can be inserted directly Into the ground at sufficient depth to ensure stability.

d)     Simple horizontal ledger stones which it is preferred should be set flush with the ground: but if raised not more than 225mm (Sins) on a flush base not less than 75mm (Sins) all round. Inclusive measurements not more than 2100mm by 900mm (7ft x 3ft).           -"-.

e)     Small unpainted wooden crosses not more than 600mm (2ft) high with a memorial inscription.

f)     Vases not more than 300mm x 200mm x200mm (12 x 8 x Sins) with a memorial inscription.
